Mocha Choca Chaga anyone? I love this drink. I usually drink it evening time, but I’m stopping the morning coffee habit, and this is now my replacement, and a very healthy one at that. It tastes kinda coffee/mocha like, but it’s actually a tea of Chaga powder, cacao powder and honey, and nout else.

The health benefits of Chaga mushroom are literally endless. It is known as the “King of all Herbs” and the “Mushroom of Immortality”. It is said to contain anti-ageing, anti-allergic, anti-bacterial, anti-cancer, anti-genotoxicity, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-mutagenic, anti-oxidant, anti-tumor, and anti-viral properties. When I make the tea, I use 2 teaspoons of chaga powder, and a tablespoon of cacao. I bring filter water and chaga powder to the boil, and then add the cacao, lower the heat and let the tea simmer for 15 minutes. I just read that some people strain the chaga powder out, but personally I prefer not to waste it. It’s a bit powdery but if you give your cup a shake then you shouldn’t be left with the powder at the bottom. InJoy¬†
